Nemesis of Flame

Alfred Clarendon mentioned the Nemesis of Flame when threatening Surama. Clarendon said that the Nemesis of Flame was the only thing that could kill Surama. Clarendon set the fire that burned down his lab, with Surama in it. The Nemesis of Flame seems to have augmented the effect of the physical flames, appearing as a forked bolt of lightning that "shot down with terrible directness into the very midst of the blazing ruin" and made Surama emit "a frantic, ululant yelp as of a thousand ghouls and werewolves in torment" that eventually died away.
