Richard F. Searight

One of Lovecraft's correspondents who who invented the eldritch Eltdown Shards and wrote a mere three stories in a Mythos vein.

Those Dreadful Eltdown Shards

Those Dreadful Eltdown Shards, by Franklyn Searight and Others

This collection, focused on the Eltdown Shards, includes Richard F. Searight's stories The Sealed Casket, The Warder of Knowledge, and Mists of Death, as well as the round-robin tale The Challenge from Beyond, in which Lovecraft wrote of the Shards himself. Additionally, there are new stories by Searight's son Franklyn. This is the only instance I know of where Mythos writing has run in a family across the generations. Talk about an ancestral taint!

Lair of the Dreamer

Lair of the Dreamer, by Franklyn Searight

Although the elder Searight invented the evocative Eltdown Shards, occasionally employed by Lovecraft himself, he made no great effort to carry on the Cthulhu Mythos tradition. Happily, the younger Searight does! Enthusiasts have been delighted with Frankyn Searight's Innsmouth stories since the mid-seventies, but never before have all of these tales been drawn together. Also included in this long overdue single-author collection is his unpublished Mythos novel, Lair of the Dreamer, along with his posthumous collaboration with his father, "The Mists of Death."

Lovecraftian Covens

Lovecraftian Covens, by Franklyn Searight

Two Correspondents In A Race To Save the World. . . and More Thrilling Horrors! Herein, you'll meet a psychotic school teacher, the lineal descendent of Keziah Mason and obedient servant of mindless Azathoth; a group of youngsters attempting to bring about the return of YogSothoth; a famed, bodiless detective who foils the devotees of ShubNiggarath; Alan Hasrad on his cosmic odyssey and interview with the King in Yellow; a sentient altar awaiting the return of Tsathoqqua; Holmes and Watson investigating a severed tentacle the strangest Indian warrior you've ever seen, who has absolutely no sense of humor; Alan and his plan to summon the Warder of Knowledge; a rather nasty excon who unhappily meets the followers of Nyarlathotep. To round out these wicked and oft times dryly amusing morsels is "Menace at Devil Reef," a lengthy novelette in which you'll share the adventures of two of the most improbable characters ever to scamper through the pages of a Lovecraftian Mythos story.
