A class of beings who are associated with the Water element in European occult works. See: Undines.

2. Water Beings, of the Great Old Ones (3)

In Derleth stories, the Water beings are a subgroup of the Great Old Ones (3) that are associated with the Water element. The Water Beings include Cthulhu[2][4][5] and Dagon[5]. The Deep Ones who follow Cthulhu are also associated with Water.[1]

Among the Great Old Ones (3), the Water beings are opposed to the Air Beings[2][3], but both hate and fear the Elder Gods (1).[3]
